Chapter 4: Branding and Marketing Strategies to Strengthen Your Market Position
You know what a brand is, and which aspects of your business you could use to describe and exploit the brand in a way that the public understands you.
But how?
The combination of a successful brand and the execution of a great marketing strategy would make your company fantastic. Think of the Facebook/YouTube ads in your head - what does that do?
How did they do otherwise? When you make a list, all of them have taken advantage of creative and innovative ideas. It is not necessary to only have a big logo or big radio advertising. When done properly, the entire marketing kit is your key to building your company into a magnificent success.
There are a large number of business methods widely accepted as advertising. The important thing is to put your brand on it all. This may not necessarily mean putting the logo on everything (although it is always advisable), but simply ensuring that all the business content is in line with the brand identity you have already decided.
For instance, you can use that for your gain if you have a specific corporate color, which is rather special (that is, not black), by placing all your correspondence in color-coded envelopes. If your brand has a specific fragrance, make sure that you always wear it when you visit your potential suppliers or clients. Brand it all.
Based on your sector, you should have two key call ports: your business card and your website. These are the first places that your customers search for details. If these two mediums don’t show your brand, you probably have a marketing problem. Stop reading, find a brand developer and have them repair (I know you can use one!). Right now. There is no reason.
On your business card, you should use your logo or some representation of it. Your business card is your little personal identity that can be held by men. A piece of your business card is written on.
Build on it and build on it until its right, or you’ll regret it when the printers come back. You should be proud to turn over your business card - when people see it, it is even better.
In terms of your website, it should be nice and easy to navigate. It doesn’t really need to be flashy, but people will be more interested if its not ugly. So if you have an ugly website, youre going to want to fix it too. It doesn’t have to be pretty, but it has to be harmless. If you want to do it yourself, you may find tens of thousands of tutorials in web design helpful.
Otherwise, your best bet is to employ a web designer or developer to create an effective site for you. Just review your previous work and make sure they can supply what you need. Web designers seem to be a hundred these days and it can be hard to choose one that is really professional!
Go now and return when your business cards and website have been resolved.
